Many of the walls at Sesame Workshop, the non-profit behind Sesame Street, are big chalk boards. So it only makes sense that artists who work at Sesame Workshop turned them into huge murals of Elmo, Cookie Monster, and more. One of the artists talks about the process — and shows some more of his work — over on our blog.

In honor of your birthday,
Here’s a poem for you.
The adjectives are plentiful.
The sentiment is true.
You are funny and fun to work with;
A thoughtful boss, and smart.
You believe in all of us.
When you speak it’s from the heart.
You’re incredibly supportive,
And always have our backs.
You lead in an effortless way,
And keep us all on track.
You are just the boss,
That Client Services needs.
You focus your attention
On ensuring everyone succeeds.
If there’s just one thing we can ask
Of our boss, so dedicated,
It’s that you please enjoy your birthday,
And make sure it’s well-celebrated.”

- Rebecca Pollack

fred-wilson:

Indeed + Facebook = Indeed Friends

I’m not sure if this is a new feature of Indeed.com, but I only noticed it this morning. It’s a marriage of Indeed.com and Facebook to create a service similar in intent to LinkedIn.

To activate it: At the bottom of any Indeed.com search page, look for a Facebook button with the wording “Find jobs where your friends work” above it. Click the link and grant Indeed permission to access your Facebook account. Indeed will search the employment history your Facebook friends have given in their profiles. Any job listing that is at one of the companies your friends have listed (either as a current or past employer) will include a note letting you know that one of your Facebook friends is/was associated with that company.

It’s a great concept, and one that rivals at least the theory behind LinkedIn. It’s also a simple way to put that carefully-built social network to work for you in your job search!
